Associate Professor Bala specialises in cataract, cornea and refractive surgery. He is a partner at Personaleyes Sydney and works at Macquarie University.  His areas of interest are often in the area of translational medicine.  He has been an integral part of the Ray tracing in LASIK journey over the last five years starting with the multicentre trial.  He has performed over 2000 cases of Wavelight plus treatment and most recently received an award for this achivement at the recent APACRS meeting in Shanghai, China.
